For the MRI Tech

Suppose you want to be an MRI technician and you’re looking to take one of the many jobs in this field; you’ll typically need an associate degree in MRI technology and certification at the least, and potentially licensing as well, in that case, depending on your state. You may be able to get a certificate in radiology and then another in MRI technology instead of an associate degree if you choose. 

A certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) increases your ability to find placement. Some states require licensing for MRI technicians to work, and in those, certification through ARRT or the state itself is necessary before applying for licensing.

Of course, there is always the option to pursue further education and certifications in the field. Though it isn’t required, you can return to school for a bachelor’s degree in advanced radiological sciences to advance your education and capabilities.
